FAQs

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is highly recommended. You will require an appointment to receive treatment as I cannot facilitate any walk-in clients.

Do I need to pay upfront or just deposit?

Payment is due at the beginning of your appointment.

Can I change or reschedule my booking?

If you need to change or reschedule your booking, please call with at least 24 hours' notice prior to your appointment day and time. Any cancellations after that will be charged at full rate.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment can be made in Cash, Debit/Credit Card, Bank Transfer and PayID. Please bring the correct amount if paying in cash as no change will be available.

Do you have a credit card processing fee?

Yes, debit and credit card payments attract a 1.6% processing fee. If you wish to avoid fees feel free to choose one of the other payment options.

What if I am late to my booking?

Please let your therapist know if you are running late. The earlier the better. Your therapist will be able to treat you if you are up to 15 minutes late, but that time will need to be deducted off the duration of your booking and full payment will still be payable. If you will be longer than 15 minutes or a no show you will be required to make full payment for your appointment.

Do you offer discounts for Concession or Seniors card holders?

10% discount is offered off the full price of treatments to patients holding a valid concession or senior's card. Patient must advise at time of booking and present card on arrival.

Do you offer private health insurance rebates?

Unfortunately, I do not offer private health rebates.

How old does a child need to be to visit without an accompanying adult?

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What are your opening hours?

7 days a week from 7am to 9pm.

Where are you located?

The studio is located on Melrose Drive in Tullamarine. As my studio is in a private residence the address will only be provided to patients who have booked in and responded to the conditions of services agreement.

Is there parking available on site?

Street parking is available on Melrose Drive. Please check signage for parking restriction day and time. Please respect neighbours be entering and exiting quietly.

Is there public transport available to get there?

Yes, there are two buses nearby. Route 478 stops a 1-2 minute walk down the road and runs from Westfield Airport West to Melbourne Airport. Route 477 stops on Mickleham Road departs from both Moonee Ponds & Broadmeadows railway stations (route goes via Essendon). Please visit PTV website for timetable information www.ptv.vic.gov.au

Why isn't anyone answering my call?

If you call when I am with a patient I will return your call at my earliest convenience.

If you call outside business hours I will get back to you when I open for business.

What do I need to wear?

Underpants are to be kept on for all treatments. Disposable underwear is available for Lomi Lomi & Body Scrub patients. Your therapist will ensure modest draping during your treatment.

Please remove as much jewellery as possible including necklaces, large earrings, bracelets, anklets and rings. It is best to leave these at home for safe keeping.

What do I need to bring?

If you would like to bring your own linen for the table, you are welcome to do so. Otherwise, there is no specific requirement.

What do I need to leave at home or in my car?

Please leave all valuables at home or in your car and switch your phone to airplane mode or on silent.

Lost property: What if I leave something behind?

Your therapist will do a sweep of the room between each patient and contact you if they find any lost property. If you believe you have lost something please send a text message with a description of the item, where you think it might be, your name and contact information. A thorough search will be made as soon as possible to locate the item for safe keeping.

How many sessions will I need?

This is very subjective and changes on a case-by-case basis. Your therapist will need to assess the issue and evaluate how you are responding to the treatment before they can give you a definitive answer.

Will there be any after care required?

Patients should try to incorporate daily maintenance routines that involve stretching and relaxation techniques to help them remain flexible/calm for a long time after their treatment. Some patients will be provided with stretches or suggestions to improve their state of being. This is subjective and changes on a case-by-case basis. It is highly recommended to speak to your GP for lasting pain or discomfort in any area of their body as this could indicate an underlying health condition. Always seek advice from your healthcare provider if you're not getting better.

I am on medication, or I have just had medical treatment, can I visit?

Please discuss any medications and medical treatment with your therapist when you are booking. Full disclosure is best to ensure the health and safety of both you and your therapist.

Can I visit if I am feeling unwell?

In this case "Sharing is not Caring". If you are feeling unwell, even if you think it is minor, please reschedule your appointment. This includes head colds, sore throat, runny nose, digestive upsets and headache. Rest is the best medicine in this instance. You will enjoy your treatment much more when you're feeling well.

Why do you collect my personal data/medical history?

As a massage therapist offering a professional service your intake form provides me with essential information that is utilised to plan and deliver a safe and effective treatment. Providing as much detail as possible ensures that I have all the information I need to provide a service that is tailored to your exact needs and take into considerations things such as your physical condition, any medicine you might be taking or if there are any contraindications or safety risks for either of us.

How do you protect my personal information?

Cocowinkle Star Massage & Wellness takes your privacy very seriously. All data collected, discussed between patient and therapist and recorded in the form on patient notes throughout our professional patient/therapist engagement remains private and confidential.

Your patient information will not be disclosed or made available, in whole or part, to any third party, unless required by law.
